Oliver and Alicia were an absolute dream to work with, they knew exactly their vision for their wedding cake.
The couple decided they wanted a country wedding even though they are based in London, they set heir hearts on the stunning venue of Hyde House Barn, nestled in the beautiful Cotswold.
The Barn features a stunning oak beamed dining hall; a blank canvas allowing them to put their own stamp on the Barn.
After the initial email from the couple, and because of the distance between us I sent them some complimentary cake samples for them to try in the comforts of their own home. Which works well for any couple that can't make it for a consultation.
After a few skype calls to discuss their designs requirements, they come up with a rustic layout with a cake stand that they made themselves.
The cake consisted of a one tier vanilla layered cake and a combination of rustic flavoured cupcakes for all the guests even some gluten and dairy free options. The carrot flavoured cupcakes with orange zest infused buttercream went down well.
The tiered cake gave the couple the oppurtunity to do the cutting of the cake and the cupcakes a great way for each guest to get a cake for themselves and no sharing!
The layout of the cake was so different to what I have ever done before, the stand was beautiful and really complimented the cakes.
" Vicky made the cakes for our wedding and she was wonderful. Before deciding anything she skyped us to talk through everything and even sent us some sketches of what our cake could look like. We had a fair amount of guests with different dietary needs and she was able to accommodate them all no problem. As you can see from the pictures the cakes looked great and we received many compliments on how delicious they were. Just make sure you order loads because they went so fast!!"
